One of the most successful global vehicle component manufacturers has announced a significant investment in a new production facility in China.

Dana Incorporated has announced it has started building a new 7,500 square-meter facility in China.

The new factory will produce Spicer ‘SmartConnect’ all-wheel drive systems for car manufacturers, including a so far unnamed “major automaker” to use in their SUVs, crossovers and passenger vehicles in China.

Bob Pyle, president of Dana Light Vehicle Driveline Technologies, says it’s an exciting opportunity for the company.

“We at Dana are excited to bring our latest disconnecting all-wheel-drive technology to the world’s largest automotive market,”

“This technology is particularly appropriate for China as it addresses the drivability requirements of the sophisticated Chinese consumer and helps meet the fuel efficiency and sustainability requirements of both global and local vehicle manufacturers operating in China.”
