BMW X5/X6 Black Fire Edition confirmed

Special ‘black’ edition BMW M SUVs

Given our addiction to BMW M-division performance cars in Australia, don’t surprised if we see these special edition BMW SUVs down-under.

Previewed this morning by BMW HQ in Munich, the Black Fire Edition of the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M will go into production in August.

The 2018 BMW X5/X6 M Black Fire Edition SUVs will boast a host of black-themed additions both inside and out, including unique Sapphire Black Metallic paint and black 21″ wheels.

The special edition SUVs will feature a contrasting Black and Mugello Red fine-grain Merino leather interior.

But the uniqueness isn’t just cosmetic, BMW has also tweaked the all-wheel drive system for a greater bias to the rear wheels.

The stability control system has also been tweaked to allow for extra fun on the racetrack via a mode that you could unofficially call “drift mode”.

While power for the twins will come exclusively from BMW’s 423kW 4.4 litre V8 engine.

BMW is talking a 0-100km/h sprint in just 4.2 seconds.

Not officially confirmed for Australia, we will keep you updated in our BMW News section as more details come to hand.
