Penske wins Detroit Diesel contract
They are two of the best-known brand names in the truck industry and now Penske and Detroit Diesel have just signed a new agreement.
The new deal will see Penske Logistics handle all the supply chain operations for the Daimler-owned engine/component maker in North America and further afield.
Penske will be in charge of shifting Detroit Diesel engines, transmissions and axles from the manufacturer’s Michigan plant to all points of the compass.
The logistics business will also provide Detroit Diesel with international freight forwarding and other supply chain services.
“This new contract is a significant uptick in domestic business with Detroit Diesel,” says Marc Althen, Penske Logistics president.
“It represents a new chapter in our companies’ long and storied history.”
