Peugeot and Citroen sales numbers in Australia in recent times have been nothing short of terrible and now comes news of a new distribution deal for the brands locally.

After a number of years under the Sime Darby Motors Group umbrella, Peugeot and Citroen in Australia will now be managed by the successful Inchcape group.

Inchcape has made a name for itself primarily as the Australian distributor of Subaru vehicles and also operates the popular Trivett car dealerships.

Taking the reins from the 1st of June, Inchcape said in a statement this afternoon that it won’t be announcing any of its future plans for Peugeot and Citroen until after that date.

However, the statement did say that the local launch of the new Peugeot 3008 SUV was a high priority.
