Australia-bound Lexus LC twins debut in New York

Lexus will show its new Lexus LC 500 coupe and its hybrid-powered counterpart, the LC 500h, at the New York Auto Show this weekend.

The appearance of the two Lexus LC variants, both have which have been confirmed for Australia, is a first for the hybrid version in North America. While the V8-powered LC 500 made its global debut at the Detroit Motor Show back in January.

Based on an all new rear-wheel drive platform, the LC 500 will come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid variant promising exhilarating performance and high levels of efficiency via a Multi Stage Hybrid System.

In what Lexus says is the next generation of hybrid powertrains, the system aligns engine speed with throttle inputs while also delivering a balance of power and fuel economy.

At this stage there isn’t a firm arrival date for the Lexus LC in Australia. We will keep you updated.

  1. I have had my Lexus IS250 for 6 years and I think it is brilliant, but I would never buy any car with a front like that.
