Audi Q8 Concept makes debut in Detroit

Audi has confirmed it is pushing ahead with the new Audi Q8 SUV after unveiling this Q8 Concept earlier today.

Debuting at the Detroit Auto Show, Audi tell us the Q8 will be an elegant alternative to the robust presence of a classic SUV when it lands in dealerships next year.

Powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain, Audi is talking 330kW and 700Nm and an electric-drive range of up to 60km.

However, despite the Q8 Concept’s generous proportions (it’s 5.02 metres long!), Audi say the Q8 concept has seating for only four (albeit in “opulent spaciousness”).

“The Q8 concept is an Audi in peak form. It demonstrates the strengths of our brand in both technology and design while providing a glimpse at a future full-size, production SUV,”

“With its next-generation display and control solutions, we are enabling customers to experience connectivity in a whole new way.”
