Flagship Audi SUV here in 2019

It looks like Audi won’t stray too far away from the Audi Q8 Concept when the real thing hits dealerships in 2019.

The guys at Motor Authority in the U.S. have caught the new flagship SUV out testing and despite the camouflage it seems to have a very similar profile to the Q8 Concept unveiled earlier in the year at the Detroit Motor Show.

The concept SUV was more than 5 metres long (that’s longer than a Toyota LandCruiser!) and the test car looks to be of similar hefty proportions.

The concept car only had seating for four, watch for that to change in the real thing.

While we can speculate that the concept car’s 330kW plug-in hybrid powertrain will be joined by more conventional engine offerings when the model becomes a reality.

The U.S. report speculates that one of the alternate engine offerings will be a turbo-petrol V6.

And will we see sporty versions of the Q8? You can put your money on there being an SQ8 and we reckon there’s also a good chance of an Audi RS Q8.
