Recall for PGR series Scania trucks with Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB)…
A recall of just over 700 current series Scania trucks has been initiated after a possible issue was identified in the Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB) system.
The affected trucks all come from the PGR series and are specified without Tachograph (TCO), but with Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB).
All the trucks being recalled were sold in Australia between the 22nd of January 2016 and the 18th of April 2017.
The recall notice advises that AEB software for vehicles without a tachograph has not been downgraded.
What are the hazards?
This can lead to the vehicle braking in such a way that the trailer becomes difficult to handle, posing an accident risk to road users.
Scania Australia will contact all customers by direct mail and asked to contact their nearest Scania branch or dealer and book the vehicle/s in for a software update, which will resolve the issue.
