2018 Honda Civic Type-R debuts

Official Geneva debut for Honda’s sporty new Civic Type-R…

The Honda revival continues with the official debut of the keenly anticipated new Honda Civic Type-R.

Being shown at the Geneva Motor Show this week, Honda has also provided us with some of the key details for the sporty new offering.

This includes confirmation that the Civic Type-R will be powered by a revised 320kW/400Nm 2.0 litre VTEC TURBO engine.

The engine will come mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission

Featuring 38% more torsional rigidity than the previous Civic Type-R, this is thanks to a lighter chassis reinforced with additional adhesive.

Revised suspension, a new ‘Comfort’ drive mode and improved aerodynamics help complete the package with production set to begin mid-year.
