2016 Subaru WRX range brings new features – the 2016 Subaru WRX range welcomes 18″ alloy wheels as standard.

Subaru dealerships are now taking delivery of refreshed versions of the Subaru WRX and WRX STI, with the improvements though comes some price increases.

The 2016 Subaru WRX/WRX STI now get 18” alloy wheels as standard, while entry level models boast a new 6.2” touchscreen infotainment system.

In the upper-spec Premium versions WRX buyers get a larger 7” system with extra features such as voice recognition and Pandora compatibility. Premium versions of the Subaru WRX and WRX STI now also come with new Vision Assist technologies, including:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Lane Change Assist
  • Auto dimming rear view mirror
  • High Beam Assist
  • Side View Monitor
  • Built into the passenger wing mirrors, so hard-to-see parts of the vehicle can be checked
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Detects passing vehicles when reversing from parking spaces
  • Power folding wing mirrors

With the changes come some price adjustments ranging between a $500 price drop and a $900 increase, still, Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior, said the sporty model continues to represents great value for money, no matter which grade you buy.

“WRX is already regarded as well-specced, but these latest additions make it the best ever in terms of the performance, value and features equation.

“WRX and WRX STI are already selling at levels unseen since the late 1990s and the latest list of new technologies can only boost their turbocharged sales success even further.”
