15-million car milestone for Skoda

15-million car milestone for Skoda

Production milestone under VW ownership

Skoda was once the brand no one wanted to know, expect Volkswagen, and now that faith in the Czech car brand is really paying off for the German auto giants.

Global and Australian Skoda sales are consistently tracking north and the brand is continuing to expand its range of vehicles with new additions like the Skoda KODIAQ and the soon to arrive KAROQ.

More than 1.1 million Skoda cars were sold in 2016.

Now comes a massive milestone for Skoda – the production of the brand’s 15-millionth car since being purchased by Volkswagen in 1991.

25 years ago, when the deal was done, Skoda was producing just one model and total annual sales numbered just 170,000.

Today, the brand just about sells that many cars every month!
